Beach Yoga Life began as a simple outdoor gathering during the pandemic when people were craving connection and fresh air. What started on the sand has grown into a steady, welcoming community that moves, breathes, and resets together each week. All are welcomed without judgment or exception.
Practicing by the ocean offers something unique. The rhythm of the waves and the openness of the sky gently remind us of our interconnectedness to all beings, echoing the Buddhist understanding that we are not separate from life, but part of it.
Rooted in the wisdom traditions of yoga and mindfulness, our approach emphasizes presence, breath awareness, and embodied resilience. As Sadhguru teaches, yoga expands awareness beyond the limited self; practiced in nature, it invites us out of mental noise and into the present, universal moment.
Most classes are guided by founder Libby Balsiger, RYT-200 yoga instructor, sound healing facilitator, musician, and lifelong student of contemplative practice. With graduate studies in education, human communication, and training at Yoga Nest Venice, Libby brings depth and clarity to each session. Her teaching bridges embodied movement with reflective inquiry, guiding students and leaders alike toward greater resilience, creativity, and authentic presence.
As Beach Yoga Life continues to grow, we’re honored to expand our circle of teachers. Afreen now leads Sunday classes, offering a grounded and soulful presence shaped by her Himalayan training. Her teaching invites compassion, inner steadiness, and a quiet return to self.
Beach Yoga Life also partners with teams and organizations to create restorative, nature-based experiences that foster connection and wellbeing.
At its heart, Beach Yoga Life is about returning to the body, the breath, and the simple gift of being on this planet together.
